Hi. I filled my 180 litre tank five days ago, added dechlorinator and bacterial startup and everything was okay, I was going to leave it like this for about two weeks before adding any fish but then it started going a white hazy colour so probably unwisely I emptied it and refilled it with fresh water, added the additives again and everything was crystal clear for about 24 hours and now I have my white haze back. Is this a battle between good bacteria and bad bacteria causing the cloudiness and can I expect it to clear when the good bacteria wins, hopefully! How long would this take to clear if it is indeed the problem or am I on the wrong track completely and is it something else. Gravel was thoroughly washed etc before adding water. Heres hoping for some advice. Thanks.

I emptied my 75 gallon after the water was awful and refilled it happend again. The milky haze is a Bacterial Bloom Plants and extra filtration will fix it up...2-5 days I believe it should be near cleared and safe for your fish entirely

Hi.

Every new tank will do this.Just wait a few days and it will clear up.In 5 days it will be much better but takes about 2 weeks to become crystal.

Exactly. It is just the bacteria in your filter growing and creating waste. But thi swaste will be consumed by other bacteria and soon you tank will be beautifully clear
