My 75 gallon was filled half way up with hot water. Unfortunately I forgot my hot water comes out of the tap almost white!!
It's not an algae bloom and it's not the sand! trust me, it was the hot tap water. What can I do to clean it up? I run a penguin350 filter and I also added an extra penguin100 to help(that gives 450gph total), but it ain't happening.
No, the fish were not added to hot tank water!

I searched for answers but only saw advice about algae blooms and sand settling.

I am pretty sure that the hotter the water coming out of your tap, the more dissolved minerals are in it. It should settle out. Run some carbon through your filter....I imagine that would take care of it.

Our hot water does that as well, white as can be....but after it sits for a little bit, all the 'bubbles' pop, and its clear... As well as the stuff in it will settle... thats my guess.

mine does the same. when i set up new tanks i find that the warmer the water the more air bubbles are attached to decor and stuff. it the "cloudyness" usually clears up for me in around 15 min or so.

On a bio-wheel, the blue filter goes closest to the tank right? the plastic basket is behind that, closer to the wall? Ridiculous question but after reading about media and filters on here and all the stuff people are doing with them I'm wondering if I just had them switched?
