i'm looking for mid tank plants, pref high light mid/fast growing. Dosing Easycarbo and TPN plus, i'm going to get rid of my Anubias nana cos its getting covered i BBA and reading what Neale Monks wrote about Anubias getting BBA without any shade has made me give in my battle. None of my other plants have got it just the anubias, i know cos its a slow grower.

so any nice mid plants?

What size tank do you have, and with what lighting?

My guess is that you need pressurised CO2. Anubias does not cause BBA, but limiting carbon will. Anubias can easily be grown in bright light without algae issues. I have grown it right at the top of a tank, so that it would chuck out flowers.

Dave.

cheers Dave, i know Anubias doesn't cause BBA but i know it attracts it more so then any other plant in my tank.

heres a link to my tank

i really don't have the option of pressurised C02 as i have a little one around the tan all day as the tank is in my living room. The missus doesn't feel it'd be safe. As i said in the above theres no other plant with this problem in my tank. Flow is good. I'm using 2x T5's, i have 900lph Koralia and the internal Juwel with an 1000ltr/ph powerhead.

Why not just replant the anubia in a shady spot if you are not going to opt for CO2 and see where that takes you before you get rid of the plant.

theres not much shade in the tank llj, only that small covering from the Aponogeton ulvaceus and the Anubias is pretty large. Its really begining to look bad. I've done a week with od easycarbo and added a Koralia, the BBA still takes over the Anubias and only the Anubias. The rest of the plants are looking great!

Don`t let algae define how you have your tank. It should be the other way round.

There is a carbon deficiency problem. Maybe the excel has addressed it, but the established algae will need spot dosing.

Dave.
