I recently bought some micro sword and i ahve had some trouble planting it down. Whenever i plant it, it jsut flaots up again. Also, I am wondering what kind of substrate would be best for the mircro sword.

I'll warn you Im still new to planted aquariums but have done a lot of reading on a recently, mirco swords grow in patchs right kind of like grasses? Might try tying the roots to a slightly larger plastic grid with a cotten thread then weighing the grid down with substrate. Kind a like a modified moss carpet. Heres a link to show you what i mean, but obviosly you woulnt whant to use a top grid peice like with moss as it would crush the swords.

I've grown a micro sag lawn before - it was hard work to start with. I brought it on 'foam' frames, cut these up to 1" squares and 'fixed' then down with cable tie wire. They sent out runners pretty quickly.

You would need a fine/small substrate though - they won't stay bottom-side for long in pea gravel for example. I have the black Eco stuff (can't remember the name).

Good luck
