Hi guys i have three platies two ive had for years and one i got yesterday one is male and the other two are female

The male and my white female that i have had for years have just had a brood an i added my orange female (new) and the male chases the new one away and returns to the white female that hes lived with for all his life any ideas why

Do they pair for life?

They don't pair for life, no; it's probably just because she's new. Your male will be quite happy to get her pregnant!

Yeah I had that happen, it'll take a few days for them to all get used to each other, but they should become a happy trio especially the guy, now he's got two girlfriends

Ha lol thank you i currently have 1week and 1/2 old baby platies they have grown alot since they where born any ideas on what age they will get their colour also i can see the anul fin they all look like girls or does it take time for them to controll their anul fin?

They will start to colour up anytime soon, and will start to be sexable at 6-8 weeks; all livebearer fry look like females to start with.
