Hi!

I have a tank (not sure how many gallons it is.. but it can hold them all; certainly not 10 gallons) with 19 Mickey Mouse Platies, roughly 1 inch each. I notice that there are more males (seeing that they have gonopodiums..) than females...I think there's only 3 females in there.

I've read that males fight with each other (? is this true??) what should I do?

Thanks to all who shall respond!! :)

It's better to have either only males or more femlaes to males as the males chase the females around all the time, also having a 10 gallon your tank is very full already.

some shop will swap for food if they are a good size or give to friends if you cant find anything else.

I guess my friends would enjoy them! Hehe..Uh, one more question.. which ones will I give away? The males? or the females?

certainly the females and some of the males, can you get the measurements of you tank then we can work out how many can fit happily in there

Oh.. okay.. uhm..what unit will I use? inches? feet? Cm? Thanks by the way..

EDIT:

I just used inches/feet insted, that's all on my tape measure..

Width - 2 ft / 24 in.
Length - 12 in.
Height - 12 in.

the tank is ~ 15 US gal you could keep 5-7 males happily in there if no other fish and only if all male

WOAH!?! How'd you compute for that?!? So cool! Oh.. So I have so many fish to give away...aww... Oh well.. Does it have to be all males? Can I mix it in with females in that range of 5 -7??

if you mix with females you just get over run again, you could just keep the females then if they have fry keep a few females of them, but otherwise i suggest all male
