Methylene Blue

I have a fish w. fungus on a wound and am treating the tank w/ methylene Blue. How long before it destryos my biological filter?

Cant give you an exact time but some meds wipe out the colony on contact while others take a day or so and yet others have no effect. I know methylene blue does affect the colony just not sure how quickly.
