I just got an aluminum turkey baster (it had the little ended needle thing so I can be more precise :D ). I'm wondering if the aluminum will affect the water in a negative way even if it's only in the water 30-60 secs. a day

Yeah, i didn't think it would mess with the tank, I just wanted to make sure. I heard or read somewhere a while back that metal can mess with the water. :dunno: Just tryin' to cover my bases

Aluminum wouldn't hurt, but metals that leach chemicals like copper can be dangerous even if only for a few seconds. Other metals that rust would also be a problem (although that is on a long term scale). Just be sure to use this only in your tank and if it must be cleaned, only use hot water. :)
