Metal Halide Buld Or Tubes

i have metal halide 5,00k bulb but i am finding tht my plants are going blackish and was wondering if tubes are better can anyone help me resolve this problem plz.

Can you provide more information, such as wattage, plant species, fertilization etc?

Metal halide gives off full spectrum light with generally more lumens per watt than fluorescents do, so I doubt that's the problem.
