Ok, bare with me here everyone as this may take a lil while to explain!
First of all i noticed a small gravid spot on my platy, i waited about a week then put her into a seperate tank because i want to keep the babies. Not only that but she was showing all the signs of dropping like other fish pecking at her gravid spot, swimming up and down and also hiding away. She also started to get a bit protective about her space and found one corner of the tank that she spent most of her time in.
After moving her into the tank, she stopped showing as many signs but i was determined to give her time! I waited just over a week and there was still no sign of her progressing, she wasnt even getting fat!
I began to read articles that said platies dont have to be pregnant just because they have a gravid spot so i decided to put her back in the main tank.
Now she has started showing signs of being pregnant again and even dropping soon. She is hiding away quiet a bit and she sometimes does a wiered twitchy thing! She even seems to have got fatter. her belly is a bit boxy too.
is she pregnant and why am i gettin mixed signals?
Oh and she has had the gravid spot for just over 4 weeks now.

maybe shes dropping a few at a time and you dont know it. my platies seem to have year round gravid spots.
