Sorry if I was a bit sharp, and it's not really any fault of your own as you didn't know any better and were possibly given bad advice. We often see new members post a simple question, which when we get the background of the story we find out that they just stuck some fish in a tank without understanding anything about how to look after the fish, and have probably been given some half baked advice by an LFS. At least you're in the right place to ask questions and get honest answers about how to look after your fish.
The main thing now is to get your filter and tank cycled and by doing this you'll also understand more about looking after fish, and how to enjoy your hobby.
