Mesh Vs Pots?

I am planning to buy some Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, which are available in pots and on mesh pads. I have only had experience with buying potted and loose plants before, can anyone recommend buying plants on a mesh over potted plants? I imagine they are not as flexible because they can not be split..

the only thing i have have bought on a mesh is Riccia and some Christmas moss. I think it would be easier to split off to be honest.
