OK so it's a couple of months old, was quickly cycled using mature media from my 2 old 22 gallon tanks and started life like this:

Then after adding and promptly removing silk plants and getting busy with bogwood, anubias, swords, vallis, java fern, moss balls etc, here's how it's looking now, sorry some pics a bit blurry and I couldn't get pics of my gouramis or clown plec cos they always hide:

Honestly, it's taking care of itself, no Co2 injection, just a bit of liquid ferts every now and again and easy to care for plants. I remove anything that dies and floats off and have no destructive plant eating/digging up fish in there, which obviously does help. I do regular sand cleaning but I'm not doing very well cos it's always dirty lol. I blame the plecs for that. I am also growing some moss on a piece of slate as you can see it's doing well and I hope pretty soon you won't be able to see that lurvely granny hairnet covering it lol.

Stocking is going to change slightly in the next few weeks to include red robin gouramis, blue rams and angels, whilst my pitbulls will be moving out to another tank that I'll be setting up as a grow out for baby bettas :hyper:

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Hi,

Looking really good! :good:

I love the idea of huge slate slabs for the bottom, and the plants look nice too.

Mel, nice looking tank there, you have dressed it really nicely. You using internal or external filter?

A few more including some of my new red robin and dwarf honey pairs, had them just under a week now and they are settling in very well indeed, though the honeys are very shy and hide a lot - you can just about see them behind the amazon swords :)
