HQL types to be a bit precise

I have got 2x125W HQL over a 150L. I bought them quiet a few years ago, before the T5 was available and the HQI was for reef aquarium. They do a very good job as far as growing plants and the bulbs are very cheap to replace. The problems is the colour temperature (quiet yellow) so the fishes and plants don’t look at there best.
Personally I would not recommend them, this type of lighting are from the past.
Hop that help.

I agree with the above (and welcome to TFF BTW, both of you!)

They are great at growing plants. Poor for colour rendition. This is a matter of taste though.

thanks very mcuh.
i'll stay away from them then.
onto halides or t5 :good:
