I am hoping to be able to use Coppersafe in my planted tank..... as it only states 'may harm SOME plants'.. and mine really aren't doing all that fabulously right now anyways...

I don't want to kill them, but I do need to get rid of the parasites/ fluke infestation that is bothering my fish....

I will of course, skim out my amanos and rehome them for a few weeks... but am reading reports that the meds will "melt" my plants away..??? Seriously? Does it have this effect on ALL plants? I mainly have the following:

swords, cabomba, wisteria, rotala, java fern, c. wendeti, valisnera, and some unknown moss. Mostly good beginner stuff, but nothing I'd really want to lose!

Anyone have any experience knowledge with using coppersafe and it's effects on the plants? Love to hear it! I need to make a decision one way or the other very soon... my fish are getting increasingly distressed, and a sick tank for all just isn't an option.

Copper does affect some plants to my knowledge but generally speaking you should be OK. The problem comes with your shrimp though. You won't be able to put them back in the tank for a very long time as they are extremely sensitive to copper which will hang around in the substrate, wood, etc.

If it were me I wouldn't use it. If you have to treat the fish then get them out and treat in a quarantine tank.
