Melted Snow

You do realize that all the pollutions that are in rain are also in snow, too, right? Where do you live compared to the local power plant? Any manufacturing?

Not to mention, anything that may have been on the ground, too. Water from the tap is treated, and stuff like the pollutants are taken out.

There is a reason people are strongly urged not to make snow ice cream these days, and that that the same reason is why the water probably wouldn't be too good for fish, either.

on that note I just made some snow cream......

Yeah I got rid of the snow melt. Little too much work either way.

If I do mix in ro water what ratio would I need in a 5 gallon change.

It depends. You would need to mix a bit at a time and test the stats. Dont forget if you have fish in already dont change the water stats quickly, it has to be done slowly over time and if you add fish later on from your LFS you will have to acclimitise them slowly to your water as they will most likely be kept in local tap water.
