Melanotaenia Praecox Bloated?

Well, he spent about an hour or 2 last night in the bowl, with 3L of water and 2x teaspoons of Epsom Salts, but I can't say it's made any difference yet. Thankfully it didn't seem to bother him either though.
I'll get him back out the breeding trap later and put him in the bowl for another Epsom soak. I don't really like having to keep moving him, but I don't really have a choice with that, as I am worried that if I left him in the bowl the temperature may drop too low. Saying that though the house is around 20 deg C, and I could wrap a towel around the bowl to try and insulate it a bit.
Do you think it would be ok to just keep him in the bowl, and maybe add an airstone?
He does seem completely disinterested in the peas though, so I am tempted to buy some daphnia later and maybe some brine shrimp too, just to see if he is more interested in something that wiggles!

If you do decide to keep him the bowl make sure the airstone not to strong for him.

You can buy little tanks with all the equipment quite cheaply. They make good hosptial tanks.

Daphnia good as it helps the fish digest its food.

Good Luck.

Well, he is still in the breeding trap, (complete with some more peas!), I did 2 days of Epsom Salt baths, then held off to see if there was any effect. I also fed him some fresh Daphnia.
He does now poo, (Hooray), but it is very very thin, almost hair like, so it would seem that something is still not quite right. Also he is still fat, but seemingly reasonably happy, and doesn't seem too bothered about being in the breeding trap.

Is the poo white or red.

Nope, brown at a guess, but very hair like so difficult to tell.

Are you using a bacterial med?

Yup, I've been using eSHa 2000: http://www.eshalabs.com/esha2000.htm

Not really seen any signs of improvement, or signs of worsening. I've now stopped treating the tank with the Esha, and he had another Epsom bath today. I don't think I'll do anymore of those though, as I can't see that they are having any effect

Ok.
The only thing I can suggest it this med if you can get hold of it.
Metronidazole (Flagyl)
Or an antibiotic which are only available from a vet.
But I would only suggest using antibiotics in isolation.

Died on Sunday morning.
Thanks for helping me to try and help him :)

Ok. Thanks for the update.
You did all you could.
Bless him.
R.I.P.
