so... have they actually managed to breed fertility into melano bettas? I remember reading how all the females are sterile, but another site reported success (though it was a small spawn and all the fry ended up dying). I always see these melano pairs on aquabid and just can't help wondering if the female's actually fertile, or the breeder's just lookin' for some chump ...

I think only a certain percentage of them are fertile.

Only a very small percentage of melano females are fertile, but double-black females are fertile
