Hi all. I had my female fancy guppy give birth again this morning. While I was trying to catch all of the fry to put them in isolation away from the other fish, I noticed one that was hanging up at the top of the tank...reeeeeaaally sneaky :shifty: . The second I put the net in, he dashed out into the open where some of my other fish noticed him and nipped at him. Thankfully, he is alive and active but he has a large chunk of his tail missing from the ordeal. The 8 babies are in a breeder container that is floating in my 15 gallon aquarium. Would it be safe to put some Melafix inside to help repair his tail fin?

It won't help repair the tail. It will help in fighting infection though. I don't see it being a problem. Check the bottle, but I would use it.

I'll use it with fry, may use it just slightly weaker but only by 5 ml in a large tank and 1-2ml in small tanks less then the recommended dose rates,

Yes, it should regrow. I had a juvenile Platy that lost almost all her tail after digging in the sand and having one of the rocks fall on her. The tail grew back very nicely. Unfortunately, she died later, probably from complications of internal injuries.
