Melafix and carbon

Does activated carbon in your filter neutralize the effects of melafix? Just wanna be sure.

When in doubt, take the carbon out. It's one of those things that you seldom really need to use. :D
 
As far as I know, all carbon really does is remove odours. may not seem like much, but it's important to me; my tank is SMELLY! :sick: :p That's why i really want to know.
 
well yes as Active carbon will chemicaly nutralise most water treatments and some types of minerals. If u wanna remove meds and treatments u might wanna get something like a poly-filter, it's expensive considering that it's just a synthetic sheet of foam that takes almost anything out of the water. it's like a super active carbon.
