I started the meds for parasites in my 120 gallon and used 12 jungle parasite clear tablets as the instructions told me to do so. It said nothing about adding airstone for extra oxygen or anything like that and my fish were fine lastnight when I put it in. An hour ago I looked into the tank and the mollies and the platies were at the top and it looked like they were sucking in water/air from the top of the tank.

So I grabbed an extra air pump and a small air stone and put it in as soon as I could. They are not at the surface anymore, so I am guessing it worked? :dunno:

Should I keep the airstone in until I start doing water changes again? Does anyone know if this medicine takes oxygen out of the water at all?

Oh yea, my tank has also gone cloudy all of a sudden. Is this because of the meds at all? What should I do to get rid of it? :dunno:

All medicines take 02 out of the water run the airstone the whole time you are treating with a med, good luck.

I treated my tanks with Jungle Parasite Clear a few weeks back. The directions don't mention adding an airstone but like Wilder said, it's always a good idea to add more aeration when medicating. The cloudiness you are seeing may be in part from the airstone you added it will probably go away when you remove the airstone. I would definately keep the airstone going until you are done treating and have done a water change. I treated mine with 2 doses 48 hours apart and a water change. I think it worked well, my fish have all perked up since treating them.

The more oxygen the better when medicating a tank. I turn my pump up full whack whenever i have to dose a tank.

Well the cloudiness happened like a day before I treated the tank and 2 days before I added the airstone. :dunno:
