Hi, I have a cory with what I'm convinced is whitespot, it looks as though it has white mould growing on his side? I have bought the interpet anti whitespot, but before I put it into the tank, I just want to know if its safe to use with my fish?
I have 3 pakistani loaches, 4 cories, 3 mountain minnows, and several guppies.

If its not safe, I also have a bottle of esha 2000, but I've lost the box and leaflet, does anyone know if that is suitable for treating whitespot? It seems to work on many different problems, but I can't remember what.
Many thanx

If it looks like mould growing on the side it probably isn't whitespot, whitespot looks like distinctive looking sand grain sized white dots covering the fishes body and/or fins;

If what is affecting your fish is larger in size than sand grains, then it is most likely something else, like a slime parasite or bacterial or fungal infection one like body fungus and columnaris;

I had someone else take a look at the fish, and they said the same :blush: I'm glad I didn't add the whitespot medication. The girl in the lfs said it had sounded like w/spot. If I had been able to take a decent photo, I'd have put it on here first.
So, I've now got the anti fungal meds

Interpet whitespot med.
