I am currently battling ich in my well planted 33 gal tank and am wondering which of the various medications I should not use with plants. There are several treatments to choose from and some indicate they are not compatible with invertibrates but I haven't seen any mention plants. I have been using Maracide(malachite green) by Mardell labs with no harm to inverts or plants, however I don't think it's effective anymore against the ich.

Today I moved my neons, they are the ones with the persistant infection, to a ten gallon tank containing some plant cuttings from the 33. I have added a dose of clout, one of the strongest antiparasite meds I've been told, and I will find out how the plants react. The clout says "one treatment should be adequate" so hopefully I can avoid prolonging the stress to the fish and plants.

I was also wondering at what temperature ranges do plants begin to show ill effects? I have the 33 running at 31 celsius and I'm noticing some leaf melting of my lily-like plant( I don't what it is, store didn't know) which is nearest to the heater. The other plants seem okay with it.

So, what do you think?
