Hi, basically I have a choice (lol)

1 6ft by 2ft by 2ft tank which will be freshwater

or a 48 inch by 15 inch by 18 inch full marine set up

please someone help me

Why do you have to change the size of the tank between the FW and SW options?

If you left the 6x2x2 SW you could go FOWLR or FO. If you went with the smaller option tank you'd be limited to what fish you could have, and you'd probably go reef with inverts, etc because of this limitation. Going FOWLR would probably be cheaper, if not the same price, and in the bigger tank youd have much more fun stocking it.

I agree with the above stated.

But large FW tanks are pretty cool.

I actually do the FW because from my personal experince so far, I think they're a tad easier and way cheaper. But I've only delt with Nano SW, and supposedly larger tanks are easier...

Have you considered high end brackish in the 6x2x2? No more expensive than fresh, other than the salt, which isn't a huge expense.
