Ok, on Monday I treated my tank for velvet, I now think I was mistaken and I'm dealing with internal bacteria, so I've got a med that says to wait 7 days befrore changing medicine, I don't think my molly will survive till then. There's no chance of isolating her and treating her on her own. They're both interpret, no.8 and no.9. Think if I did a 50% water change I could start the new treatment?

The molly is just lying gasping at the bottom of the tank but she's still feeding so I'm hoping I could still save her.

if you add activated carbon to your filter for 24hrs it will
absorb the current medication and then you can start the new treatment.

how have you confused the two though?
what are the symptoms and what are your water parameters?

Hi Wolf,

I don't have nay carbon, I'll try and get some.

Basically my mollies are dying with no symptoms other than lying at the botton, hiding for a few days and gasping. There's a gorami in the tank who looks a bit dull and velvety, so I thought maybe the velvet was killing the mollies before showing any real signs. However the gourami isn't showing any signs of improvement. The barbs were very listless but have perked up since moving them to a clean tank and the pleco who was very stressed looking has almost returned to his normal colour. The old tank was in a terrible position and hadn't had a good clean for a couple of months, hence why I moved them.

In the new tank the water is ammonia 0ppm, nitrite 0ppm, nitrates 10ppm and PH 7.5. There was also a lot of flicking going on with all the fish.

I don't really know what to do for the best.

Thanks for the reply.

P.S the gourami is now just kinda rocking back and forward like a mental patient.
