Reading through all these rescue stories of bettas has got me thinking. So I have two (probably simple) questions below. Thanks for replying in advance !!

Are there any medications out there that should not be used for betta's?

Or that need to be altered (such as watering down) before adding to your betta??

I used Melafix and Pimafix when my Betta had fin rot. Only half the recommended dose is needed as they are quite sensitive.

The only one I know of thats not really good for bettas is melafix, and should be given in smaller then the recommended dose. I have a girl once, a beautiful little pink doubletail named princess. She came down suddenly with a really bad case of rot, so I put her into her own tank to treat her, used salt and melafix (and this was before I knew a whole lot about bettas) and did the full dose of melafix, an hour or so later she was dead. I'm noot 100% positive the melafix killed her, but it sure wouldn't surprise me.

What about the maracyn's ?? Thanks for the replies so far!
