Medications and filters

I was wondering what I should do after I finished medicating my tank with Quick Cure. The sponge has turned blue. Should a wait a while and then replace it, or just rinse it out? Also, does Quick Cure damage good bacteria in the sponge and in the tank?

bah i hate quick cure, it stains the nice silicon all blue but it should not do no harm for ya

It does do a nice job of staining, but doe's it damage the sponge?
