do you do water changes whilst you are running a course of medication?

I started myxazin for an ulcer on my gourami and my levels were A 0 Nrite 0 & Nrate 40.

My ammonia rose to just under .25, will test again later to see if maybe it was incorrect.

I add enough meds to treat the new water after re-filling.

I'd be careful about doing this though, as you risk caursing an overdose :/

All the best

me completely useless...

what should I do? stop the meds and change the water? hmmm... so very confused. Quite often in the morn i have a little ammonia and the night I have none.

I also feed in the morning so this is possibly why....

if the ammonia is being processed within a few hrs by the filter then i would say don't do a water change and just medicate. as rabbut said if you need to do water changes when medicating you need to 'top up' the meds for what you removed, but it's a bit dodgy and should eb avoided if possible.
