Well when i got my first tropical tank (120 liter one) back in april, i decided i would start putting some money aside for a smaller tank to sit on my desk, wich i did untill about september. Then i found a small 5 gal (i think, never worked it out) tall hexagonal tank, wich i put a nice pretty betta in recently. My mind had got distracted untill today, wich considering i never have any money was a good day, i found what i had been saving! I got £120 in a small box labled "fish" :hyper: :hyper: , and iv got a two foot space on my desk that needs filling, so i got something to watch when im "revising" for exams  .

My LFS stocks the clear-seal tanks, i think there called that and im going to go down either tommorow or tuesday to have a look, just browsing on the website it looks like ill get

C.S.107 24" (610mm) x 16" (406mm) x 12" (305mm). Holds 16 gallons (72 litres), wich is gona cost ~£40-50 maby less if i can haggle. But i still need filter and a heater.

1/ what filter would you recomend?
2/ what are my options with fish?

Ill create a journell for this tank when it comes sometime this week

thanks for any advice

Tom!

that should help with the fish (shellies are cool)

an external whisper filter should be good for a tank that size. Just get one rated for a little more than your tank incase you overstock a bit or a fish dies or something like that. it's better to have a little more than you need than a little less. Example: you accidentaly drop the whole bottle of fish food in the tank...

hi,I can get 18inxh tanks for £18,heater £10 and filter £4.So it works out quite good.I live in kidderminster near staffordshire and there are shops that sell cheap tanks.

I have a tank of similar size and I run 2 Fluval 3 filters keeps the water spotless, has a central chamber for water polisher. Bought them off ebay under £30 pounds and you get cheap heaters there too. Good luck with the new tank.
