I am thinking about a pair of these wrasse in my 80L cube with 60L sump I have read conflicing information to tank size and wondered if anyone has any experience with them and if my tank is big enough for 2 of them (Male and Female).

Many Thanks

Morri

Morri, have you taken a look at the fish of the week thread, Scott Michael has a bit to say about tank size :good:

Seffie x

but to abridge it, no, i'm afraid your tank imo is not big enough

IMO its not the water volume that is the problem, its the swimming space, I put just 1 in a 20g 30" long tank. The 30" was just long enough, could have done with being longer.

Its the way that they glide through the water that needs a long tank.

So does that mean I could plop one in my 30" 29g? I may have to think about that one

And that would be comparable to 24 us gallons.

Sorry KJ, Was asking for the Length of your tank. The volume should be fine.

EDIT - You will have to excuse me at this time of night, the morphine gets the eyes and brain sometimes.

It should be ok, I would have liked a little bit more on that length but you must have more width or height. Can always try one, you are planning an upgrade anyway aren't you.

oh..lol sometimes I think a little morphine would be quite nice...

I put the 30" in there. That's the length. Width is 12" and height is like 16 or 18" something like that. Don't rememer off hand :)

Yea, I'm upgrading when something comes my way. Also hubby and I are talking of selling our house to get a bigger one. If we do put it on the market no bigger tank for a little while. I bet I could find a local club member that could take my wrasse if he looks stressed or something.
