Well, the two guppies I have left are doing OK, so whatever Apollo had mustn't have been contageous. But I just don't want to buy any more, because I've had such rotten luck with them. And I know it isn't fair to just keep two as they are fin nipping eachother pretty bad. I don't know of anyone I can give them to, aside from my lfs. I want an ethical opinion, should I just keep these two, and not replace them when their time comes, and take care of them best I can, or return them, and think they will be happier if rehomed?

From what i gathered you have gone for the more fancy colorful types of guppys, which tend to be very inbred and aern't very hardy or have good imune system and tend to die alot- i suggest you rehome your current guppys back to the lfs and buy some "boring" dull colored guppys like some nice grey or pale yellow females with a bit of color on their tails and a red/green/yellow short tailed mosiac/cobra crossbreed male and see how you do with them  .
Sorry to hear about your bad luck though, don't blame in on yourself as many guppys have simply been ruined by the breeding they have been put through, i have lost countless guppys since i started my guppys project and unless its one that needs recueing, i stay well away from delta tailed and guppys with blue/white/purple coloring in them.

Yeah, all the stores around me only carry the fancy ones. I will consider rehoming the two I have, but I am sort of temted to keep them, only because Ember lived through 3 weeks of ich medication, rapid water temp swings when my heater broke, living in a way too small tank, and I have had him for several months, he was the first guppy I ever bought. So maybe I'll find him a home with a neighbor or something.

All of the guppies I've had have been the fany colorful kind and yes, they are sort of weak. But I've managed to keep some for about two years. And I grew one of their fry to full size. But then he died quite suddenly... :/

That seems to be the problem, and really, I am spending way to much money for dead fish. All of my lfs's carry oes that look weak, only two of them (the two that survived) look large and hardy. So I just don't know what I'm going to do. There is a nice fish shop about 20 minutes from my house that takes great care of their fish, do you think they would take my fish, even if I didn't buy them from that store?

Dont tell them. I had a kinda chinchilid that resembled a parrot but really wasnt. I tryed to give him to a petstore but when i said i got it from somewhere else they said they dont take any fish from other pet stores. Just say they were given from a friend if they ask. :D

small LFS are more likely to accept "unknown source" fish than a chain LPS. especially if they take good care of their fish. i say give them a call and see what happens. maybe they can recommend replacements while you're at it.

Thanks guys! yeah, the LFS I want to give them to are highly reputable, not a chain, just a good sized fish store. Maybe I will just say I got them from a friend, and they don't get along with my other fish or something. Because I know the owner of the store I got the guppies from, and the store I want to give them to aren't friends.
