My guess would be the big and green ones cause a tree will produce more oxygen than a bush and the green pigment of light is from photosynthesis. Im probably wrong though. Also put into consideration that if you high lighting (3.0 wpg+) then the plants require more co2, which turns into o2.

Leaving bicarbonate users aside, all plants produce O2 through the reaction 6CO2+6H2O=>C6H12O6+6O2. So, because that reaction requires a set amount of energy from light to occur, your lighting level (Although CO2 and other nutrients must be avaliable) determines the rate of O2 production in the tank.

In reality, the most important oxygenator in aquaria is gas exchange with the air.

Basically the faster the growth the more oxygen produced.

Fast growers - Mexican Oak Leaf, Ambulia, Hygros, Rotala, Anacharis, Water Sprite, Brazilian Water Ivy. Most of these require decent light though.
