I have recently bought a tank and I am looking to start cycling it when I return from holiday.

I have tried contacting people from the media donation thread but pretty much everyone around me seems to be inactive.

So is there anyone in the London/Kent/Surrey area(I am based in Croydon) who would be able to donate some media so I can seed my filter?

I don't mind travelling to collect it, but would be hoping to collect it on the 27th August.

For info my filter is an Eagle Aquatic HW-304, its a large canister filter so can fit pretty much anything in there!

Thanks in advance

I can donate you some, but not alot. I live between merstham & redhill, so quite close to pickup from Croydon. 27th should be ok, but I'd have to confirm closer to the date.

I have a small eheim internal fitler which holds eheim biological substrate, I'm a bit overstocked and i need to seed another tank of my own, but i could at least give a bit of it, even a small amount should at least get you a big headsup.

Do you have ammonia ready for when you need to cycle?

Thanks for the offer, I hope to be able to take you up on it.

I am pretty much ready to go, only major item missing is lighting (was damaged in the accident that earned the tank its nickname) but I wont need that till the cycle is done, so going to source that while cycling.

I am on holiday between the 22nd and 26th, so might be tricky to get hold of between those dates. That said any help is much appreciated. I am guessing you are pretty close to the 405 bus route?

Im not sure about bus routes, there are 2 buses though that come quite close. It's just off of Frenches Road in Redhill.

whats the tanks nickname? and what fish are you planning to keep?

The 405 goes down London Road, so should be easy enough to get to you.

Tanks nickname is the "Bionic Tank" see http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/368572-i-know-tanks-are-tough-but-this-shocked-me/page__p__3077872#entry3077872 for details.

Not 100% sure on fish yet, Cardinal Tetras, 5-Banded Barb and Corrys seem like a starting point, I do like the idea of a pair/trio of Pearl Gourami or Rams, but nothing is set in stone yet.

I'll have a read of that when im not at work! lol
