Matching Hood And Stand

I finally finished building the matching hood for my stand. i still need to stain it. i just wanted to share the pics.

I added 2 feeding doors to match those on my stand. I also made it capable of opening all the way up for maintenance. and i left room for the plumbing on the back.

ok, got some updated photos of the whole setup. I am still lacking two pieces that I plan to make and cover most of the sides of the tank. They will also double as extra support for the hood, which is not really necessary since the tank is holding it, but I want to make sure its ok. They should take me only a few minutes to make, the weather just has not permitted lately.

and finally i have finished the side panels. here are shots of them installed. their purpose was to hide the exposed side of the tank showing the powerhead and jets, as well as support the hood which was priorly resting on the tank itself.

i have also since planted this tank with 2 cryptos, 2 anubias hafs, and 3 amazon swords.

wow, brilliant. Looked at the plans and it looks great.

Will you be releasing the plans and cutting lists for the hood as well?

I may well consider building myself rather than look for one that suits my decor and room.

unfortunately when i built the hood i did not have a camera to take construction pics, but i will make an AutoCAD drawing of it as well as the assembly steps. The good thing also is the concept behind its structure was taken directly from the stand, so if you get that concept, you will get the hood, just have to hinge the maintenance door.
