Hi Folks,

I am currently in the process of planing a small shell-dweller setup with a colony of multies. I was wondering what the minimum tank size requirement would be if I wanted to include a single Julidochromis transcriptus as well. I imagine probably bigger than I have room for, but it never hurts to double check.

Many thanks,
Larissa

From everything I could find, julies work well with shelldwellers, however, in a smaller tank they would be competing for floor space, so I'd suggest finding a species for the upper levels instead.

Thanks for the info, that's what I was thinking too. My new plan is to wait untill the multies are in and see how much of the water column they occupy - I wont get a jullie, but maybe something else thats small for upper area of the tank. Some sort of small very rainbow fish maybe but I am not sure - there may not even be room. We'll see...
