Marineland Magnum 350 Canister Filter

Does anyone have any knowledge about this filter? So far I'm amazed all the pieces are there except the biowheels, but I don't want to use the biowheel contraptions, just the canister part of the filter, which is intact.

Is this even worth my time?

As a secondary filter, I think they are great. Good mechanical and can hold a fair amount of chemical media as well.

Do you own one? I'm a little confused about just how it all goes together. Looking at the manual, it looks like I can either use the finned filter OR the media basket. Is that true?

No I don't own one, but ran a couple when I worked at my lfs. Yes you can use either one. I think they still make the poly filter sleeve for the media basket.
