my tank came with a regular light bulb(yellowish light) and it always get wet from the air pumpin the bubbles, and it seems to be fine. im going to upgrade it to a flouresence light bulb. i was wonderin if the florescence for the hex 5 would be alright if it it got wet.?

florescent upgrade:

(you can c the shape is deffernt and at the connection point theres a silicone peace to prevent water from getting into the conection of the bulb)

If I'm thinking of the right tank, doesn't it have a plastic splash guard? Either way, I think the bulb would be ok with a little splashing, my florescent tubes get wet quite often. If the filter makes some surface movement, you can usually do away with the bubble stone unless you like the effect.

Good upgrading the lights, too - My first tank had the same lights you describe and they were lousy. Couldn't see much, couldn't grow plants, I usually just left them off. The CFLs I replaced them with were much brighter and worked well for plants.

yeah ur thinkin of the rite tank, but b4 it gets to the splash guard on a floresence light theres a ceramic thing(feels like clay), its okay for that to get slightly wet ? i dun wana fry my fish ya know.
