I have a 75 gallon tank that is being maintained in part by a Marineland C360 canister filter. It looks like a nice filter, but I have a couple of questions about it. First of all, I bought this used so my only source of information so far has been the guy that sold it to me and youtube videos. There are multiple sections in this filter, one of which is for activated carbon. After what I've read about this, I'll probably leave that section empty. There are two compartments for bio media, nothing to worry about there. There are two physical filters that I have questions about. The first one is at the bottom on the canister, Marineland calls it Biological and Mechanical filter foam. It looks like a really course sponge. From their website, "Marineland® Biological and Mechanical Filtration Filter Foam provides a large surface area for trapping particulate debris and enhances biological filtration. The filter foam can be rinsed and reused once every three weeks for a total of nine weeks." Does anyone know if there is a good reason to actually replace this filter? I'd think if I just rinsed it well I could just re-use it. Any thoughts, especially from someone that has used this canister filter?

Thanks
