Hey,
I haven't put any live stock into my 20 gallon tank in a couple months and when i was looking at my maroon clown today, he had a lining of white around his pectoral fins and like a white spot or two on his forehead. I have a cleaner shrimp in the tank with him. The lining around his fins is very hard to see. I just noticed this today and give my tank a through inspection everyday. Could this be marine velvet?

Nearly impossible to say without pics. Marine velvet is a difficult diagnosis, often mistaken for parasitic infection with the fish just excreting mucuous to try and make itself feel better

ok thanks. I'll post some pics a little later today.

Check your water quality and salinity while you are at it. Fish produce excess mucous when they are stressed out and the most common stress factor is poor water quality.
