hi all, is this list of fish compatible?!!
X2flame angelfish, X3royal gramma,X4 black percula clown, X6common clown (nemo!!)X1copperband butterflyfish, X2scarlet hawk, X1naso tang, X1pacific blue tang(Dory)X1porcupine puffer, X1reidi seahorse,X1 Figure 8 puffer.

why i want so much clowns is because i would like to breed them and that would rack in the money :hyper:

i kinda only got them from the looks so can anyone manipulate the list to suit a cool huge reef tank (no bigger than 500)

i read that the clowns should only be 1 pair per tank but i really think it would work with the number in my list!!

what brand & product of tank is best for the list!!
:good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good: :good:
thanks!!

you can keep multiple clowns per tank, but it needs to be in the 1000 litre range.

2 max for a 500

and if you want to breed, your best of going for a species tank, and also breeding and raising them from the eggs to larvae to juveniles is very difficult

why are the fry hard to look after?!!

the riedi seahorse would more and likely starve or get abused

because of their size and needs.

hi

you cant put a seahorse in with any of those fish it needs a slow moving tank so it can get food

To breed clowns and raise fry you're better off pulling the eggs and hatching them yourself. Then there's the rotifer cultures, and brine shrimp cultures. Belive me it ISN'T easy. Here's a testimonial from one gal who breeds Picasso clowns.

http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/livest...-clownfish.html

IMO, picasso's would be the only ones worth it. you can sell a pair of true picasso'sfor $400 in the US and the grade A's go for $100 a fish and grade B's go for $50 a fish. Keep in mind you only get a few true picasso's per batch of fry. You'll get a handful of the A's and B's.

I would ditch the seahorse and puffers. Aren't puffers nipper and fin pickers?? I think they can be, maybe.

2 flame angels is asking for trouble unless u can get a pair same for the scarlet hawks

the porcupine puffer, naso & regal tangs will need a huge tank

I believe figure 8 puffers are brackish not full Marine

Seahorses are best in a species tank

Percula clowns are one of the few clowns that you could get away with having more than one pair

Main question is what size tank are u thinking of getting? Once u have decided on the tank then u can decide on your stocking

Correct Fig 8's are brackish fish. edit(unless there is a common name for a saltwater species as well)

If he goes for a 500g then I think two flames would be fine wether they are paired or not. I'd say minimum 180g for the naso tang. Bigger than that for two flame angels.

yeah it just depends i have a 8ft tank and had 2 coral beautys in it and the hated each other so it would not be me

regards scott

Someone has already posted the link to the forum where someone is breeding picasso clownfish (the unusually marked ones)

You have to decide if you want to have this tank to make money and breed them, or to actually enjoy watching them.

Here is the breeder's website off that forum that KJ linked; http://donisreef.com/
As you can see they have put a LOT of time and effort into learning about it and they require care as fry every 2 - 3 hours. If you're willing to give this a go then good luck to you but if it's your first marine tank then i'm sure a lot of people wouldn't recommend it. I've only had marine for around 5 months now and I'd still call myself a beginner.

For a start if you did happen to get a clownfish pair to breed then chances are, in a community tank they would be munched straight away by the other fish, so that's a no no for a start.

Once you've decided if you want this for enjoyment or a as a business, then I think you can start looking at what fish you want, it's easy to want every fish in the ocean but to be able to enjoy watching them properly they need to be happy in their aquarium!
Best of luck :)
