I have a 159 litre Marine tank, its now been running for year, Ive had from the Start a blue damsel, and then from then on added 2 clowns, a cleaner wrasse, 1 strawberry gramma, 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 green goby, 1 eibls angel and 1 sunburst butterflyfish, a fairy wrasse and most recently a blennie. I bought the fish around 1 every month, giving the others time to settle in. In the past 3 weeks ive lost The Fairy wrasse, no apparant reason, the i lost the cleaner wrasse, no apperant reason, i then conducted a PH, Ammonia, nitrate n nitrite test, everything is spot on, ive now not seen my blennie for 2 weeks and i woke up this morning a dead clown fish. I did another water test on everything and its all fine, Gravity is 1.024 I cant figure out whats wrong, i was wondering if anyone can help? or if anyone has has similar problems

Are you using tap water or RO water for water changes?

Good to see the made it over here jmz2202uk :D

(I'm the guy that sent you the link ;))

Any way... when you say 'spot on' for the readings, what were they?

What sort of cleanup crew do you have or are you running fish only?

Do you clean your glass with windex or others? Have you had your carpet cleaned? Do you have anything out side the tank that may be causing stress to the fish? (Kids playing, dogs barking, loud music) Do you like pizza? Me too... I like a nice thick crust with loads of sauce. Pepperoni-Green olive is my favorite. Try it, it is so good, and keep an eye out for foregn cemicals or out side stressers.

The cleaner probably died from a lack of food, they need parasites from fish or live brine shrimp and may need to be weaned onto frozen or freeze dried food.

159L is just 35Imp(UK) gallons a little more than mine and IMO you have too many fish. A pair of clowns and a couple of other small peaceful fish is your limit

i KNOW THERES A CLEANER MIMIC THAT LOOKS LIKE A CLEANER WRASSE BUT ACTUALLY GETS PART OF THE FLESH OF THE FISH AND SLIME COUTING THAT COULD BE CAUSING STRESS i WOULD ADVISE STAYING AWAY FROM CLEANER WRASSE BECAUSE THEY USUALLY DIE FROM STARVATION FROM LITTLE PARASITES IN THE TANK. AND IT ALSO TAKES THE WRASSE FROM THE REEFS WHICH KEEPS THE REEFS HEALTHEY. THE MIMIC CLEANER WRASSE IS CALLED CLEANER MIMIC. THAT DAMSEL COULD BE CAUSING SOME STRESS IN THE TANK TO.

I have a mimic in my tank. its was partly responsible for stressing and killing 90% of my tank. Its now sumped, dont buy cleaner wrasse for that reason and also the fact that they do not aclimatise well and need specialist feeding.
