I just got in a new rescue - red capped oranda - in very poor shape. He is thin, fin & scale nipped into oblivion (was being kept with Koi
), has a few streaks in his fins, and overall looks very rough. He also has a minor Ich infestation. I'd like to treat the Ich at the same time as his other ails - early stage septicemia, and maybe fin rot from the extensive damage - but am not sure if I can mix the meds. Is it safe, since one is an anti-parasitic, and one is an anti-biotic? And, if not, which is more of a threat to his health? (My guess is the septicemia, and since the fins are bitten right down to his body in some places, any secondary infection from the wounds)
Thanks in advance.
Oh, not that the water stats are off since I just put him in, but here is the info:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
pH: 7.5
Hardness: Moderate
Salt has allready been added, as well as aquasafe, stress guard, stress coat, and bio-protect.
The tank is a 10g - I know it is too small for long term. The fish is currently only 2.5in long, and the tank has two fluval filters and a bubbler. I will be testing the water daily and doing frequent changes. If he survives his illnesses, THEN I will buy a 20-29g tank; I just can not justify spending 60 bucks on that set up on a fish with low chances of survival yet.

Thanks in advance.
