Is manzanite Ok for my new tank? Should I get the sandblasted or natural version, and if I get the latter, should I boil it?

it is fine, i have just ordered some too (from US) :)
not sure about different versions though? The guy i bought it off gets it locally as i understand it is like a wedd over there.

Aaron, I'd love to see how you set that up, as you tanks are perfect. Can you send a picture when possible?

sure, i shall be starting a journal soon (hopefully). I am waiting for a new carpet & wallpaper to be fitted before I order the tank though so it may be another 2 months. There will be a link in my sig incase i forget to post here though!

Thanks

Those are twigs

I live where all but 1-2 species are endemic, CA.

They are a PITA, folks hack them back all over the roads, and yards etc. They are a brush fire hazard weed.

Some are nice etc, they are a fire adapted chaparral species.

Tom Barr

Fear not, they have plenty of gnarly pieces smaller than this one.
The other ones are rather small, the burl is also nice.

Check other UKAPS site for the offer :good:

I doubt you can beat it, nor the quality.

Tom Barr

Cool pics, cool wood. I should ask my brother to send me some from California. Probably easy to find out there. Aaron, what the heck you going to do with those, set them up between rocks or fasten them together? I am curious if you have those with one tank in mind, or several smaller tanks...

will do Tom :good:

all (or as much as possible) will be going into a 4ft/ 240l. Some will be strapped together, maybe a few rocks surrounding - all will be revealed in good time ;)
