I have a 25 Gallon tank with 6 different fish. 1 medium goldfish, 1 female sword tail, and a mixture of platy's. Out of the mixture of platy that I do own I only have one male. All of my other male fish have died. I know that my only remaining male can be a bully sometimes, but whenever I buy more males they always end up dead. Is there a reason why to this? I think that both the males and females have a different life span, unless I'm wrong and he is picking on the other males until they die. Any hints, or ideas as to why they keep dying?

He could just want the ladies to himself. The male:female ratio should be 1 male: every 2+ females so he's right where he wants to be with his 3 females so he may be killing the males

Ahh,that would make more sense now..since he does have...4 females to himself really.

that could explain why my other male fish had died. I just assumed it was the male being mean to the other fish. It wasn't just the molly fish who died. it was also some tetra and i knew it wasn't my water!!! because the other fish were still alive.

crap. Now I have four male molly fish and three neon tetra and three molly fry (fry are in a different tank) because the female died and I went to the pet store to get two more females.. but the snerd (my made up word lol) said he knew the difference but when I got home he didn't know the difference.

I have a 10 gal tank.. .so three neon tetra and four molly male fishies. SHould I get another female ??? Or should I just wait for one to bite the bullet and die :'(

If you've got all males it's fine just font get any females also I'd up your neons to 6 as that's the minimum number :good:

for a 10 gal tank??? I have four molly fish and three tetra and three molly fry .. I think that is the max of fishies I can have, right?

If you've got all males it's fine just font get any females also I'd up your neons to 6 as that's the minimum number :good:

10 gallons is too small for mollys. they need 30 gallons minimum because males get 3" and females get 4" and yes 6 neons if you have adequate filtration.

Has nobody noticed the Op has a goldfish in with the swordtails & platys?.
The goldfish if not a fancy variety, it really needs to be in either a pond or a much larger tank
