hey all
i have a "female" betta and im trying a new way to introduce and condition my pair for breeding
http://www.plakatthai.com/bettatips.html
"she" has built a bubblenest and when i let the you pair see each other "she" flares as if she wants to fight rather than mate.
when i have the cardboard between the 2 she shows stress stripes.
so im wondering if she is may be a juvinnile (im not sure if spell it that way) plakat?
thoughts??
thankyou

That "female" looks to be a male PK and the gill plate from what I can see defo says "male" to me.

What do you mean by stress stripes, vertical or horizontal.

Vertical indicates that it may be female but horizontal just says that it is stressed and possibly a juvenile.

Have you got a better photo ?

thats definatly a male, that is the most common colour of male pk in with the females at fish stores.100% sure its male.

well we have two others which i am unsure about aswell and the optovisor is not visible so yer
thanks
