Ive got this lovely looking peppered cory but im not sure if it is a male or female? It seems to follow my albino cory everywhere and sometimes sits on top of the albino one.......i think it might be male and if it is i would like to get some females for him

Am not entirely sure how to sex corys but I must say I love it's long fins! It's rare to see those.

me either, ive tried to have a look online but it says to compare two next to each other....but i only have one. i think i might just buy a few and hope that they are females. the long fins just seem to have grown out of nowhere.... when i brought this one they were only short but they seemed to grow long overnight....im hoping if i can get it to mate with another one then it might pass its long fins on

Corys really need groups of 6+ to be happy. So you best aim for at least 6. Also that way you'll have a few males and females at least.

I would say that this is a male.  I look at the way the belly touches the substrate (or whatever they're sitting on). Males' abdomens will be mostly flat, like your fellow here. Females will be much rounder, and almost look like they're going to fall over :)  It's much harder to tell when they're smaller, but like techen said, with a group of 6+, the chances are greater to have a good male/female ratio.  I would get some friends for him, and maybe you could get some long fin fry! He's beautiful :good:

Yes I've read about that but originally I had one which I saved from its death bed from a local pet shop (I couldn't even hardly see it in the tank the water so bad and it was almost dead, laying on its side gasping. So I took it and nursed it back to health). Then I got this one off my friend who decided they didn't want to keep fish anymore. The two seem happy enough together at the moment but I will be getting some more so they are in a group of at least 6

Add me to the "male" camp.  I agree with greenmumma.  More than likely male, and getting more individuals would be a good idea.
