Would an all-male group of 10 or so Endlers be OK? Or would they be unhappy and aggressive? 20g tank, planted, with hiding places.

Also, would they be likely to be snacked-upon by anybody much bigger than them (thinking of Bolivian Rams or Pearl Gouramis in particular)?

The reason for all-male is that I have nowhere to put a bazillion fry - although perhaps any bigger fish would mean that wasn't a problem anyway......

Thank you for reading :)

I wouldn't know if 10 endlers would be okay together. (Probably depends on how aggresive some of them are) But 10 endlers in only a 20 gallon tank sounds a little crowded. You might want to consider lowering the amount of fish you put in the tank.

I should imagine all male endlers would be fine and if that is the only fish you certainly wouldn't be overstocked.
I'm not sure about keeping them with Rams or Gouramis though, not sure if they'd end up as a snack or not.

endlers are dinky, so unless you go with an equally small gourami (such as a honey or one of the sparkling types) then they might end up as expensive snacks. but 10 male endlers in a 20g is *far* from overstocked.

yes, you can get more fish than just 10 endlers in a tank. I don't think that there'll be aggression if your tank is planted with hiding places. However, I think tetras and corys are the biggest fish that you'd get away with.

Corys would be good. What I would do is to get a correspondingly sized group of dwarf corys (habrosus or hastatus) for visual contrast. That would certainly not be overstocked, they are all titchy little things. Planted with lots of hiding places this could be a lovely tank.
