Male Molly Died! Why?

I took my female betta out of my tank and put it in a 5 gallon because she should give birth soon. So my male molly was in the 37gallon without any other mollies and I just found him dead. Why is this?

was he beat on? how was his appetite? what are the water parameters?

First I olny had 1 male and1 female so once I took the female out he was the only molly in the tank! He was fine before I tokk the molly out be when she was out he just staid near the back to not swimming

Sorry my bad I just reread your post if you could answer sempers questions that would help, were there any other fish in the tank?
