hello i am new to fish keeping, and to this forum, sorry if this is in wrong topic, i have had my tank since last september, a community tank with tetras and fancy guppies, in the last day all seven guppies have died, they turn upside down then lights out, all the tetras are fine ,temp is ok, PH is normal nitrate/nitrite both ok, i used a water treatment setting up, and treated for white spot in december, can anyone give me any info please.

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Can you post your water stats please.

Any symtoms to go on before they died.
Strange for all seven guppys to die in the same day, that why we need to look at your stats.

hi the tank has a capacity of 28 litres
seven dead guppy's
six cardinal and four neon's
1 small albino cat fish

the PH was reading normal and the nitrate and nitrite, both with colour charts,
no symptons they just turn upside down, they semmed a bit sluggish first

The tank was overstocked.
Guppys and tetra need larger tanks, no less than 10 gallon as they are active fish.
Looks like poor water quality to me.
Ammonia and nitrite should be 0.

Did the guppys show any odd symptoms before death, whether behavioral or physical, like bloated or underweight appearance, hanging around near the surface or bottom of the tank all the time, labored breathing etc?
Its important to get more accurate water quality test kits if the ones you have do not narrow down the actual results to more accurate numbers, the paper strip test ones tend not to be that accurate. When did you test the tank for its water quality as well?
You say you were treating the fish for whitespot since September, what course of treatment did you use on the guppys plus how were they progressing? What is the temp in the tank and did you use anything like salt etc during the whitespot treatment? How often do you do water changes and how much water do you take out on average and do you use dechlorinator? Is the tank filtered and heated?
