I have noticed that one of my male guppies is trying to breed with another one of my males. I dont understand why he would try to do this seeing that I have a good number of females in there. Should I be worried, and sooner or later will he find out that the one he is trying to breed with is another male?

Male Guppies are nuts. They have very high sex drives, and they WILL try to breed with another male, even if there is females around. Probably all your females are pregnant, so he's feeling a little frustrated. No need to be worried, it's entirely normal, however strange it might sound. :p

Apart from their high sex drives, male guppys will somtimes try to mate with each other as an act of dominance over the submissive male so the one that is getting mated with is most likely further down the pecking order than the other male.

livebearers are nuts. one of my dwarf platies attempted to mate with this ugly brute the other day:
